Bees wax one of the main ingredients that one will be required to have. Of course one will need others like shea butter and coconut oil. Essential oils are needed, just as well as the colour.

Utensils

The   bees wax will need to be melted over a source of heat. One should get a double boiler. A small pot and a glass bowl. Please note that the pot glass bowl is placed over the boiling water during the melting. The wax may start to get sticky hence the need to continually stir it so that it retains the consistence.

Essential oils

Once all the wax has melted, it is then removed from heat but the heat is retained in it so that one can add the essential oils. The best way to retain the heat is to place the wax over boiling water. There are many essential oils such as peppermint. One can keep adding a few drops and testing it on the arm to see if it is the right kind of scent.

Filling in the balm into the tubes

You now have learned to make your own lip balm. The remaining part is to put it in the respective tubes. This is usually not easy to do since one will have to do it with overfilling the tubes. A dropper or pipette is the best tools one can use to intricately apply the   lip balm in the tubes without ad much as spilling or overfilling. The method of application is squirting the lip balm and then sealing it.

Hardening of the wax could happen before one is through the with adding the essential oils. As such, if you want to make your own lip balm, then you have to do it as fast as possible.

Consistency

The consistency of the lip balm will be determined by the amount of beeswax   one has used. The less the amount of wax, It will become very thick as a result. On the other hand, one can make it soft by adding the wax to it.

In the long run, one will be able to make just the right lip balm they want…Like a pro.

Cooling

Once you have successfully put all the lip balm in the tubes, it is still hot hence the need to let it cool as but this should be done at room temperature.
